Passivhaus Bitesize Training

NEW GREEN REGISTER LOGOThese sessions are being run in conjunction with The Green Register.

The Passivhaus Bitesize course aims to explain the general principles of what makes a good low energy, comfortable building, based on the Passivhaus standard. The target audience is architects and the material is focused on design.

This course follows a different format to the Certified Passivhaus Designer course, and it is only a short introduction to Passivhaus. To sit the Passivhaus Institut exam and become a Passivhaus Designer/Consultant, please visit our AECB CarbonLite Passivhaus Designer Course page.

Our courses run from 1.45pm – 5.30pm each day unless otherwise stated.

How Much Does it Cost?

£125 + VAT per afternoon session.
£112 + VAT per afternoon session for AECB/PHT/TGR members.

Our Material

Afternoon 1 – Fundamentals
Introduction including overview of construction, air-tightness, thermal bridging, and extra services requirements. Also touch on design to avoid over-heating.

Afternoon 2 – Construction
Detail workshops: construction of junctions and material samples, airtightness exercise.

Afternoon 3 – Building Services
Services for building designers. What they all mean. Space requirements. Layout requirements. Simple service strategy and considerations.

Afternoon 4 – Putting Passivhaus into Practice
Bring your own project, workshop and crit. session. Listen in to each other’s projects and to the practical development advice given by experienced practitioners.
